Melba toast whole-wheat

This toast is a keeper

Mmm… Melba Toast whole-wheat! This member of the Melba toast-family is mostly grain, so it includes more fiber and has even more taste. Our proud Frisian family-run company has been proudly baking toast for four generations. That’s pretty special, if you think about it. And when you take a bite, you will know why our toast is definitely a keeper.

So where does Melba toast whole-wheat come from? Our baking masters start by carefully baking bread in our bakery. These loaves of bread are cut into small slices, just the right size to cover them with some fresh pesto and cherry tomatoes. After this, they are baked until they are crispy and golden yellow in color. You won’t find anything better, we promise.

Nellie Melba

Nellie Melba (May 19, 1861 - February 23, 1931) was an Australian soprano. In 1886 Nellie and her family left Australia to become known as opera singer in Europe. It worked! She became a musician of world renown. Her name is still associated with two dishes, the dessert pêche Melba and our delicious Melba toast. Both are conceived by the French chef cook Auguste Escoffier. The dessert when he saw Nellie perform and the Melba toast when he fell in love with her.
